244: Nic Gray, Army Veteran, Managing Director at Graypoint Ventures Franchise Development & Consulting Group

Posted by Michael J. Penney on

On this episode of Cigars and Sea Stories, Mike is sitting doen with Nic Gray of Graypoint Ventures. Nic has some interesting stories from his time in the Army. He went in during his mid-twenties, which gave him a little more common sense than the average private. (The Marine in me wanted to type recruit) Nic had already seen success in the franchising world when he decided to join the military. The idea of driving tanks through the desert seemed really fun, and who can blame him. The M-1 Abrams is a beast! Nic describes the perils of driving with your head out of the top hatch while the turret is rotating. Enjoy the episode.

Nic Gray is the Managing Director at Graypoint Ventures, a Franchise Development & Consulting Group bringing fresh, innovative and demand-driven concepts to the marketplace. We leverage over 20 years of industry experience to help people choose the right franchise opportunity and achieve financial independence.

Nic's experience spans from opening and running regional franchise developments for notable brands such as Red Robin and Jamba Juice, to Managing Partner of an Italian restaurant chain, to founding a software intelligence company that provides technology solutions for the franchise industry.

In 2004, Nic left the business world to become an Armor Crewman and Platoon Communications Non-Commissioned Officer in the United States Army. During his time serving the nation, he completed one tour of duty in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2006-2007 and one hardship tour in the Korean Peninsula from 2004-2005.

After serving, Nic entered back into the business world to be the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of HyprLoco, a software intelligence company based in Denver, CO. He went on to raise millions of dollars in venture capital, formed strategic partnerships with Fortune 500 companies, and in 2016 was named one of Colorado’s Top 25 Young Professionals by ColoradoBiz.

Outside of the business world, Nic is involved with Veteran outreach programs focusing on suicide prevention within the Veteran community.
